5 summer house cleaning tips
Although summer is fun and the weather is nice, it brings some unique messes; grass stains, ice cream stains, water rings on wood, etc. It can be very challenging and that’s why we have these tips for you.
Summer is here and it’s time to head outdoors. Firstly, you need to tend to your garden. If your garden tools have rust, apply either lemon juice or baking soda/water paste. Remove any dead leaves or grass, and plant some colorful flowers. Put a summer mat in front of the door and stop dirt from getting on your carpets. You need to clean your grill too for the upcoming summer barbecues. Use a wire brush to scrub down the grates while the grill is still warm. You can also remove the grates and clean them with an oven cleaner.
During the summer, the shower will be more used. And the bathroom in general. Remind everyone to keep an open window to prevent humidity. Summer is a great time for throwing out all the things on the racks that you do not use, the empty bottles, and to purchase things you need for the summer like sunscreen
Use microfiber cloths for cleaning the indoors. They sanitize and clean floors, tile and glass. The best thing about them is that they are reusable and totally inexpensive. If you have a pet, then you inevitably have some pet odors. You can deodorize all the places that your pet is in touch with by sprinkling the surfaces with baking soda, letting it sit for 15 minutes and then vacuuming the residue. To brighten your windows use white vinegar. Mix white vinegar with water and spray it all over the windows. Wipe away with a microfiber cloth. You can add sage or orange peels in it for a better smell. If you have furniture nicks on your wooden furniture, rub it with a walnut (without the shell) and mask the damage. You can also clean your porcelain with vodka. Apply vodka on a cloth and rub the porcelain with it.
Your pet is sneaking up on your bed? Just use rubber gloves to scoop up pet hair. Put an open box of baking soda in the closet where you keep your clean sheets and towels to prevent them from musty smells. You can use coffee filters instead of paper towels to give your mirrors a no-streak shine.
First of all, the best idea is to add door screens and window screens. If you already have them, make sure there are no holes in them and if there are repair them. You need to make sure that your kitchen is clean. A pile of crumbs on the floor can invite ants and other insects in your house. Also, don’t let your fruits get ripe because that will only invite more pests inside. Check your yard for any standing water since mosquitoes are breeding in those. Maintain your garden regularly. Don’t leave garbage unattended or dead leaves and grass.
